Nashiama JA is one of the most personable mares with a wonderful temperment and personality. She is one of the first greet visitors in the paddocks and tries the hardest to understand what they may want. It's interesting to watch her observe visitors closely, reading their body language and trying to anticipate what they might want from her reacting quickly as soon as she figures it out. She will often follow the direction of wherever arm/hands point because she's learned to read people so well. She's a solid mare, level headed, not what may be considered jumpy or flightly and is easy to live with, but can turn on the heat when asked to show-off. She loves to be groomed and will stand for hours or as long as one is willing to use a brush on her. She's a really neat young mare and nicely foundation bred for the future being a Galero grandaughter who's sire is a maternal half brother to Lucy Whittier's successful straight Spanish sire, Retador. Nashiama's dam, *Nashitaa, was sired by *Alcazar who produced the notable *Shubann, an exotic-headed dressage Champion as well as many others. *Nashitaa's dam was sired by *Komuste, who was a performance champion and a sire of performance horses. Nashiama is considered linebred to Zancudo and is from the female family of Veraz of the Duke of Veragua. She is the perfect compliment to Mandato with two exceptionally nice colts by him to her credit.
